1. Plan your journey:

  • Research your point of entry into the UK and how to reach your final destination.
  • Check if your institution offers airport pick-up services and book in advance if needed.
  • Arrive in time for your institution’s welcome or orientation week, which provides valuable support and information.

2. Organize your travel and luggage:

  • Familiarize yourself with the baggage allowance and weight limits of your airline.
  • Be aware of prohibited items such as alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and certain foods.
  • Tag each piece of luggage with your name and UK address.
  • Keep important documents, medications, and valuable items in your carry-on bag.

3. Keep important documents safe:

  • Make digital copies or photocopies of essential documents like your passport, airline tickets, travel insurance certificate, acceptance letter from your UK college or university, and important addresses and phone numbers.
  • Carry a prescription or a letter from your doctor for any medication you’re bringing.
